Cookie Angel, a 5-year-old long-haired Chihuahua who was brought into a local vet clinic in critical distress. Due to financial constraints, the owners were unable to provide the necessary care for Cookie, leading to her surrender. Upon surrender, Cookie was in a critical state, displaying symptoms of emaciation and limpness. An urgent visit to a specialist hospital revealed that Cookie was suffering from Yomet. 

With immediate authorization, she underwent a life-saving surgery, during which a gall bladder rupture was also discovered. The combined cost for the procedures amounted to approximately $10,000.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our generous and dedicated supporters, whose contributions played a pivotal role in saving Cookie's life. 

Following the extensive and critical surgery, Cookie has made a remarkable recovery and has been under our care since August 28, 2023. She has undergone rigorous monitoring to ensure a complication-free post-surgical period before being made available for adoption.

Furthermore, Cookie's vaccine protocol will be discussed based on the lifestyle of her new owners. In consideration of her health, she is not currently being re-vaccinated to allow her liver to heal.

Although partly house trained, Cookie may require further training, especially with regard to outdoor habits. She has a tendency to be vocal when left alone and prefers not to be confined, thus requiring a balanced life of freedom and companionship.

While currently weighing 1.68kgs, Cookie may benefit from gaining a little more weight, aiming for a healthy 2kgs. It is important to note that Cookie has specific preferences and may display certain guarded behaviors initially, emphasizing the need for patience and understanding.

We are limiting the search for Cookie's new home to the Lower Mainland area to ensure her ongoing well-being, with the assurance of logistics-free return to us if needed. Her adoption fee is $695, and an adoption application, along with a home visit, is mandatory.
